考研英語閱讀題在解題過程中，你會發現，很多定位到的答案所在句特別長，長難句的解析過程又是各位學員所頭疼的問題，這時候，如果大家知道一些解題技巧，依然會幫助大家選出正確選項。今天我們講解的解題技巧就是神奇的冒號。
冒號表示解釋說明，很多時候，冒號之后的內容往往就是我們的正確選項來源。大家知道了這個解題技巧，在做題的時候，如果原文定位句出現了很多不認識的單詞或者比較復雜的長難句，則可以不用慌張，直接利用解題技巧解題就可以了。
例1 Just as bosses and boards have finally sorted out their worst accounting and compliance troubles, and improved their feeble corporation governance, a new problem threatens to earn them——especially in America——the sort of nasty headlines that inevitably lead to heads rolling in the executive suite: data insecurity. (2007 Text 4)
36. The statement: “It never rains but it pours.” is used to introduce _____
A. the fierce business competition
B. the feeble boss-board relations

D. the severity of data leakage
此題的定位句是長難句，不易理解，但是如果大家知道解題技巧神奇的冒號的話，很容易把關注點放在冒號之后的內容data insecurity上，所以對應的正確選項應該是D選項data leakage。此句意為“當老板和董事們剛剛整頓好最糟糕的財務和規章問題，加強了薄弱的公司機制之后，新的“數據不安全”問題可能使他們出現在令人討厭的(尤其是美國的)頭版頭條新聞中，毫無疑問，這會導致執行官們走馬換任。”
例2 The trend in sports, though, may be obscuring an unrecognized reality: Americans have generally stopped growing. (2008 Text 3)

此題的定位句中你可能不認識obscuring和unrecognized這兩個單詞，但是沒有關系，只要你知道解題技巧神奇的冒號，你就會關注冒號之后的內容，即Americans have generally stopped growing，那么對應的正確選項就是C：Americans have reached their genetic growth limit。原文的主語Americans對應C選項的Americans，原文的謂語動詞have stopped對應C選項的have reached……limit，原文的賓語growing對應正確選項的growth。
例3 This is a subtle form of peer pressure: we unconsciously imitate the behavior we see every day. (2012 Text 1)
